Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this mentoring for?

This is for writers who have a draft — or a substantial work-in-progress — of a novel or memoir. You might be stuck, unsure what to do next, or just need focused, experienced feedback to move forward. Whether you're aiming to publish traditionally or simply want to finish strong, this one-month process is designed to meet you where you are.

What kind of writing can I submit?

Fiction (any genre), memoir, or narrative nonfiction. Up to 30 pages — ideally the beginning of your manuscript, but it can also include a synopsis, outline, or a section you’re struggling with. If you’re not sure what to send, I’ll help you decide.

Is this right for me if I’m not ready to publish yet?

Yes. The aim is to move your project forward — whether that means shaping a revision plan, building confidence, or preparing for agents and publishers. This process is just as valuable if you’re at an earlier crossroads and want clarity before committing to more.

How is this different from a writing course or group mentoring?

This is personalised and focused — it’s just you and your mentor, working one-on-one. No group calls, no online modules, no broad curriculum. It’s tailored to your specific goals, challenges, and manuscript.

What’s the time commitment?

About one hour every two weeks, plus time to review feedback and work on your writing. The format is designed to fit around real life — it’s structured but flexible. You get three sessions over five weeks, and everything is online.

Is there a selection or application process?

No. If you feel this is the right fit, you’re welcome to book. The offer is intentionally low-barrier — no applications, no gatekeeping. That said, if you’re unsure, we're happy to answer questions before you commit.

What if I need more support after the month ends?

You’ll finish with a clearer path forward — and if you’d like to continue, we can discuss follow-up options that suit your needs and schedule. But there’s no obligation or hard sell.

Can I use this time to work on a synopsis or query letter instead of pages?

Absolutely. If you're at the publishing-prep stage, we can focus on whatever will be most useful — including synopses, pitch materials, or agent submissions. The process is flexible and adapts to your project.

What does it cost, and how do I pay?

The price is $1900 AUD and you can pay by card as part of the booking process.

How do I get started?

Click the Book Now button to reserve your spot. You’ll be able to choose your first session time, submit your pages, and we’ll take it from there.
